Join us for Ride & Stride 2026 and enjoy a day discovering Stroud, exploring Gloucestershire’s historic churches and helping to support St Laurence.

Whether you choose our organised walking route, take on our cycle route or create your own church-to-church challenge, we’d love you to be part of the day.

Registration is free. If you are able, we invite participants to make a voluntary donation (suggested £10) and to encourage friends and family to support their challenge by donating through our Give A Little campaign.

Can’t take part on the day?

You can still support Ride & Stride by making a donation. Every contribution helps St Laurence Church: Stroud Centre for Peace and the Arts continue serving our community and supports the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust in caring for churches across the county.

What’s Happening at St Laurence?

St Laurence will be open throughout the day for participants, supporters and visitors.

We’re planning:

• Refreshments
• Church tours
• Heritage displays
• Children’s activities
• Information about St Laurence Restored
• A warm welcome for everyone

We’ll add more activities as plans develop.

 

Guided Heritage Walks

Join one of our volunteer-led walks (11:00 and 14:00) and discover the history of Stroud, its churches and the people who helped shape the town or pick up a walking route map of  Stroud’s Victorian highlights.

• Welcome participants
• Serve refreshments

• Help set up and clear away

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to raise sponsorship?

No. Registration is free and everyone is welcome. If you’d like to support the event, we suggest making a voluntary donation and sharing our Give A Little page with friends and family who may also like to contribute.

Can I choose my own route?

Yes. You can visit any participating churches across Gloucestershire and create your own Ride & Stride adventure.

Can families take part?

Absolutely. Families are very welcome. Under 16s should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
