Stroud Town Council has received over 100 written requests for a Town Meeting following the decision to close the lido/outdoor swimming pool.

Although the Council is not the decision-maker for the lido’s future, it can provide a formal forum for the community to discuss the issue.

A Town Meeting is a statutory gathering of registered electors to discuss local matters and, if desired, vote on resolutions. It is important to note that this is a residents’ meeting, not a Council meeting.

The meeting will follow a Question Time–style format, giving attendees the opportunity to share ideas and put questions to a panel including representatives from Stroud Town Council, Stroud District Council, and the Save Our Lido campaign. The aim is to create a constructive space to explore positive ways forward for the lido.

Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. However, as this is a Stroud parish meeting, only residents of the parish will be able to vote should any motions be raised.

If you have any questions about the meeting, or if you have any accessibility or participation needs, please contact us on 01453 762817 or email council@stroudtown.gov.uk.
