Join us for a joyful community celebration of Vyshyvanka Day on the 16th of May in Stroud. A traditional Ukrainian cultural event in May celebrating embroidery, heritage and unity.

At this special celebration, you can look forward to a Vyshyvanka parade, where people will wear traditional embroidered Ukrainian clothing and carry flags as a symbol of unity, friendship and togetherness. It is a powerful reminder that although we come from different cultures, we are one community here in Stroud.

There will be a live concert featuring talented local performers and community members, showcasing music, creativity, and a wide range of talents that reflect our shared diversity. You will also find delicious homemade food, sweet treats, and traditional baking. For families, there will be engaging children’s activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

With the main support of Stroud Town Council, and additional support from Renishaw and Sanctuary Breaks, this event is hosted by Stroud Stands with Ukraine. It brings together British and Ukrainian volunteers and the wider local community in a spirit of friendship, warmth and solidarity.

Stroud Stands with Ukraine is a volunteer-led community group, founded by local British residents and later joined by Ukrainian volunteers. Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, it has been supporting newly arrived Ukrainians with practical help such as housing connections, digital support, English learning, and guidance with jobs and schools, while also helping people integrate into the local community. The group regularly brings Ukrainian and British residents together through shared events that build friendship, understanding and connection. Only together we are stronger!

This is a day to come together, celebrate culture, build connections and enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere with family, friends, and neighbours.

Everyone is very welcome.

Free entry.
