Concert doors will open 30 minutes before the performance, at 7:00pm.
Concession tickets are available for under-18s, full-time students, and individuals receiving income support. Proof of eligibility may be required.
This special concert brings the spirit of the season to life with a vibrant programme of carols from around the world and festive favourites all beautifully arranged for unaccompanied voices.
The Apex Singers are an 8-part vocal ensemble known for their bespoke arrangements of traditional folk songs from around the world, all performed a cappella. Their unique sound blends classical choral music, traditional folk, and contemporary a cappella, creating a distinctive and captivating musical experience. Adding to their accolades, The Apex Singers’ live performance of “Wild Mountain Thyme” at Hallé St Michael’s earned them “Outstanding Live Video” at the A Cappella Video Awards 2023. Their studio albums, “Hiraeth” (2020) and “Stravaig” (2022), have garnered critical acclaim, including two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. The Apex Singers’ original arrangements have also been performed by renowned ensembles around the globe, including The Vancouver Youth Choir (Canada), Exaudi Youth Choir (Australia), UW Harmonists (Germany), Ardú (Ireland) and Mannskoret Arme Riddere (Norway) to name a few.
The Apex Singers regularly perform live and have sung in a variety of venues and events from festivals (Bolton Choirs Festival), outdoor stages (Kaleidoscope Festival) and churches (Dunblane Cathedral) to concert halls (The Stoller Hall) and theatres (Liberty Hall Theatre). They are played regularly on regional (BBC Radio Cymru, BBC Radio Manchester, Celtic Music Radio), national (Scala), and international (Sunshine 106.8, Acaville) radio.
